Shimano Competition

WIN £1,355 worth of Shimano Purist Rods and Baitrunner Reels.

The new decade sees the launch of Shimano’s new Purist range of specialist rods. To coincide with the introduction, one lucky reader can win a pair of 12ft 6in Purist Brench rods along with a pair of Baitrunner 6000 XT-RA reels – a prize worth £480. That’s not all, though, as there are seven runners-up prizes of 12ft 6oz Purist Tench Float rods, each worth £125.

The two-piece Brench rod is designed for bream and tench tactics. It has a 1.75lb test curve and a fast tip action. It’s the perfect big-water rod, with a satin finish, snazzy cork handle and quality guides. The rear-drag Baitrunner 6000 XT-RA reel has a capacity to hold 300 yards of 10lb line and is the latest in Shimano’s specimen free-spool reel range. It has a spare spool, a double handle and a gear ratio of 4.6:1. You get two pairs of this rod and reel combo if you are the first prize winner.

The two-piece Tench Float has a test curve of 1lb, plus a soft tip action to cushion the lunges of fish at the net. There are eight prizes – the first worth £480 and the seven runners-up prizes worth £125 – up for grabs. The first prize will go to the first entrant who is randomly drawn and has correctly answered the question below. The seven runners-up prizes will go to the next seven entrants who are randomly drawn and have correctly answered the question below.
