This week Keith’s guest will be specimen hunter, journalist and consultant Ian Welch. With a string of big fish to his credit Ian recognised as a highly successful all-round angler, attributing much of his success to keeping his approach simple - you’re sure to pick up some great advice.

We get out and about with former decathlete turned passionate specialist angler Dean Macey. He took a trip to the River Itchen with good pal Neil Wayte, himself a top all-rounder, to target that classic winter species, the grayling, using simple river tactics.

Ian Welch is a regular visitor to overseas locations in search of more exotic specimens, and as well as discussing his recent adventures there’s also the chance to see Keith fishing for sharks in his favourite holiday destination, Key West in Florida.

Keith will be announcing the winners of January’s Young Angler of the Month photo competition, and also taking his regular look at the weekends prospects for all anglers. In Fishery Focus he’ll have helpful information on conditions, some typical UK venues and the most effective methods and best baits to use.

On Tight Lines next week the focus is on carp fishing and Keith will be joined by Gary Bayes. As the bait-brains behind the highly successful Nashbait brand and the first angler to catch a 60lb+ UK carp, his opinions are highly regarded throughout the carping world.
